Product Structure

Online soft starters have intelligent control functions, supporting multiple communication interfaces (such as RS485, Modbus, etc.), which can be easily connected with PLC, DCS and other control systems to achieve remote monitoring and control. Users can real-time monitor motor operating parameters and status through the host computer, perform remote operation and fault diagnosis, improving the automation level and management efficiency of the system.
- Reducing impact current: Online soft starters can make the motor current rise with a smooth curve during the starting process, avoiding the impact current up to several times or even ten times the rated current produced by traditional starting methods (such as direct starting). This not only reduces the impact on the power grid, reduces the voltage drop caused by excessive starting current, protects the normal operation of other equipment under the same power grid, but also extends the service life of motors and related equipment.
- Reducing mechanical stress: During the starting process, the soft starter can gradually increase the torque of the motor, avoiding the mechanical impact caused by the motor instantly bearing excessive torque under traditional starting methods, reducing the wear of the transmission system (such as belts, gears, etc.), reducing the cost of equipment maintenance and replacement of parts, and improving the reliability and stability of equipment.

Working Principle
- Voltage Regulation Principle
Online soft starters usually adopt thyristors (SCR) as power control components. Thyristors have the characteristic that their conduction angle can be controlled. By changing the conduction angle of thyristors, the voltage applied to the motor can be adjusted. During the starting process, the soft starter will gradually increase the output voltage, making the motor start from a lower voltage, avoiding the high voltage impact during direct starting. - Current Limiting Principle
Soft starters realize current limiting function by monitoring the motor current. During starting, it will limit the motor starting current within a set range. When the current exceeds the set value, the soft starter will automatically adjust the conduction angle of the thyristor, reduce the output voltage, and thus reduce the current. As the motor speed increases, the back electromotive force of the motor gradually increases, the current will gradually decrease, and the soft starter will correspondingly gradually increase the output voltage, making the motor eventually reach rated voltage and rated speed operation. - Control Principle
The soft starter has a control circuit inside, which can control the conduction angle of the thyristor according to preset parameters and the operating status of the motor. The control circuit usually uses a microprocessor or a dedicated control chip to process and analyze the signals collected by various sensors, realizing precise control of the motor starting process. For example, automatically adjust starting time, current limiting value and other parameters according to the motor load conditions, power supply voltage and other factors, to ensure that the motor can start smoothly and reliably.
Through the above working principles, online soft starters can realize soft starting of motors, reduce current impact and mechanical impact during starting, prolong the service life of motors and related equipment, and reduce the impact on the power grid.
